Post 7: Is Obesity a Disease?

Obesity is a multifactorial condition characterized by excessive fat action or general hypertrophy in the adipose tissue of the body.  The OMS defines it, as when a person´s body mass index is equal to or greater than 30 kg/m².  Although it is an individual condition, it has become a public health problem that is increasing in the society.
In the clinical setting it is classified as a chronic disease and a metabolic syndrome, since it has a risk factor to health and life. Obesity generates predisposition to cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, cancer, among many others.
But, the obesity is really a disease?
The American Medical Associations identified three criteria to define disease:
1) An impairment of the normal functioning of some aspect of the body.
2) Characteristic signs and symptoms
3) Harm or morbidity.
According to specialists, obesity meets these characteristics.
It makes those who suffer from it, not able to do their life normally due to the physical limitation that cause.  Also, cause problems in the mental health, as eating disorder or depression.
Do not forget that as already mentioned, it can cause death by diseases associated with this condition.
Many say that it is not a disease, because it is an effect due to bad habits, such as eating too much or being sedentary. Like others who argue that it is caused by hormonal diseases or drug treatments that cause obesity as a side effect. But first of all, there are many diseases that are caused by bad habits (for example, eating too many things with sugar causes diabetes or drinking too much alcohol causes sirrosis) Second, it has been shown that with a healthier life or with other mechanisms, you can counteract the secondary effect of hormonal diseases or by pharmacological treatments.
In conclusion, obesity is undoubtedly a chronic disease, which carries a risk factor to the health of people and it is very dangerous to relativise it taking into account that it is a condition that grows day by day in the population.

Post 6: Post graduate studies

Hello again friend! In this opportunity I going to talk about post graduate studies that I would like to do.
After my undergraduate, I would like to study a master’s degree in Government and Public Management at the University of Chile. Because, I like very much the area of management of the Public Administration and this master’s degree could help me to better perform my work in a public institution.
The subjects I would like to study or those that interest me most are those related to people management. In fact, also I would like to study a diploma course in People Management and Directive Abilities for the Public Management at the University of Chile.
I prefer to study in Chile, because I don’t like travel for studies or work. Studies abroad do not catch my attention. In addition, I would not like be away from my family and friends.
About the study mode that I would like, in the master´s degree I prefer to opt for the “year of continuity” that offered by the university in the undergraduate, for graduate of master in one year. The diploma course can be vespertine. Always I prefer a face to face mode over an online mode.
Finally, I hope I never have to do an English course in the future, because I hate this language hahaha, it’s a joke, I do not hate English but I do not like it very much.

Post 5, My future job.

Hello again my friends! Now I going to talk about my future job (or rather as I imagine it or what I would like to work)
As a student of Public Administration, I would clearly like to practice my future profession within public institutions of the State (ministries, public services, municipalities, etc.) or work in any NGO (or if it is possible to found one).
Of any form, regardless of the institution that I have to be, I would like work in the area of management of human resources, because I like work with persons.  In addition this is an area taken into account inside of the administration. Apart from the management, I would also like to take charge of the training of the officials.
I would like the work to be indoor as outdoor, but I would not mind if it was just indoor. About  the travels, personally I do not like travel for work or for anything other than fun or pleasure. I feel that traveling that reason is not enjoyed so munch. But is have to do it, I will. If I work in a NGO, maybe the trips are more profitable.
About the salary, I would like earn enough for live well, I do not to make myself rich.
To finish, I would like very much to do a master´s degree and diplomas. This can greatly improve my job  performance.

Post 4: My favourite song

Hi friends! Now, It´s time to talk about my favourite song, but I like a lot of song and I do not have a favourite (it is difficult to choose only one), so I going to talk about one of them.
The song I chose is "Lateralus" of the band Tool.
Tool is a american progressive metal band, formed in 1990. The band is composed by the drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, bassist Justin Chancellor and vocalist Maynard James Keenan.
Tool, and their jobs, are considered "cult" by the incorporation of visual arts and very long and complex releases.
"Lateralus", is part of the album of the same name, the third of the band and published in 2001. This album is considered one of the best albums of the last time according to many rankings of the specialized press.
The particulary of this song is that it was composed based on the Fibonacci sequence (this is a mathematical progression) in music and lyrics.
The lyrics of the song, talk about the human "Spiral force" that covers all the senses of life. Make sense with the musical composition, because the graphic expression of the Fibonacci sequence is a spiral.
This song is important for me, because it excites me a lot and the lyrics are very deep. It makes me reflect...
